Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Inc. (GS-TOP) is a nonprofit organization serving girls and adults in 81 counties throughout the Texas and Oklahoma plains. GS-TOP, formed in 2008 by merging four existing councils, reaches out to girls in large, small and low-income communities.
GS-TOP reaches girls of every age, ethnicity, ability and background fulfilling the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. This mission is accomplished through traditional troop programs, outreach programs, and camping opportunities. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. Adults are served through leadership development, governance opportunities, and various adult learning opportunities throughout the Council.
